Peppermint leaves are fairly easy to grow and can take over your garden if you aren't careful. The simplest way to grow your own peppermint is in a pot and place it on your porch or in a partially shaded area. Peppermint leaves are also called curled mint and balm mint.
Peppermint is popular in traditional medicine. If you have headaches or migraines using infused peppermint oil or drinking peppermint tea can help. The menthol in peppermint increases blood flow and helps to alleviate pain. In a clinical study, peppermint was found to be as effective as 1,000 mg of acetaminophen.

Remedies to alleviate headaches and migraines:
Peppermint Tea: Steep 1 teaspoon of peppermint leaves in 1 cup of boiling water. You can pour the boiling water over fresh peppermint leaves and let steep from 10 to 15 minutes and strain or place dried peppermint leaves in a tea bag or infuser and steep for 3 to 5 minutes.
Infused Peppermint Oil: Place 3/4 cups of dried peppermint leaves in 1 cup of carrier oil (olive, coconut, jojoba) and place in a cool dark place and shake daily for 4 to 6 weeks. Strain and store in cool dark place for up to a year. The oil can be used topically on your temples and forehead. Keep away from eyes.
Peppermint Essential Oil Nasal Inhaler: You can make your own by purchasing a blank nasal inhaler and add about 10-15 drops to the cotton swab. You can also purchase one from my site by clicking on the link below.
